Douglas McCarthy
Douglas McCarthy has worked internationally in museums, art collections and archives for twenty years. As Collections Engagement Manager at Europeana, Douglas supports Europeana’s mission by working with partner institutions to showcase their collections to online audiences. Douglas is a passionate advocate for open access to cultural heritage and his areas of expertise include digital collections management, copyright and licensing. Douglas is also a respected researcher and author in the field of open access to cultural heritage. Since 2018, he has led an international survey of open access policy and practice in the GLAM sector with Dr Andrea Wallace. Douglas is also the Editor of the Medium publication Open GLAM, sharing insights into open access and cultural heritage from a global perspective.
Sylwia Żółkiewska
Designer, visual artist, art+tech expert, lecturer (UW, PJATK). She helps institutions and organizations in designing user-friendly digital products (e-courses, games, applications, websites, multimedia). Co-creator of cultural hackathons: HackArt MNW, Hack in NAC Archive, Interactive Film Hackathon FilmHack KARTA. Multiple curator, co-organizer and producer of FAM – Mobile Apps and Games Forum, innovative event combining culture and mobile technologies. Winner of the 100th List of the Broad Agreement for Digital Skills (2019). She is the author and co-author of numerous publications on new technologies, including the book “Business in the world of mobile. How to design, develop and promote a mobile app” (Poltext 2018), nominated for the prestigious Economicus award. She writes about technological trends in art & culture for Contemporary Lynx magazine and runs a Facebook fan page Mobile Apps in Culture and Education. Currently, she is conducting research on mobile image, its typology, impact, and perception as part of her PhD thesis at the Faculty of New Media Arts of Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology. Agnieszka Kowalczyk
She has been researching consumers and users since 2010 and designing experiences since 2014. For several years she has specialized in UX design for the medical industry, creating solutions for medical staff and patients. She has designed and conducted research for brands such as Lux Med, Demant, Inter Cars, Booksy, Facebook, Orlen, Carrefour, Bank BZWBK, Bank Millennium, ING Bank Śląski. She is a doctoral student in the Management in New Technologies program and a research and teaching assistant at Kozminski University. She teaches students (psychology at SWPS, social informatics at AGH and ethnology at UW) the practical side of User Experience design.
She willingly shares her knowledge during workshops and conferences such as UX Elementary, UX Poland and WUD Trójmiasto. After hours, he mentors (dareIT, Mentors4Teens) and demonstrates the relationship between anthropology and design at ethno.WORKS
Jacek Staniszewski
Principal, history teacher at the just-opened DobraTu school in Warsaw’s Wola district. Until recently, director of the elementary and high school Akademia Dobrej Edukacji at 13 Górczewska Street in Warsaw. Since 1995 he has also taught English, civics, computer science in a public rural school (Stare Pole, Pomeranian Voivodeship), non-public Gdansk Autonomous Schools at all educational stages. Since 2010 he has lived in Warsaw, where he worked at the Historical Laboratory of the Institute of Educational Research, taking part in research on the implementation of the core curriculum in history lessons. Co-author of articles on practical applications of closed tasks in school practice. He teaches future teachers at the School of Education of the Polish-American Freedom Foundation and the University of Warsaw. Since 2016 he has been an ambassador of Euroclio, the International Association of History Educators. He has conducted many workshops abroad (in Europe, South Korea and the United States). Participant in international projects to create educational materials with international reach. Runs the blog doklasy.pl, in which he describes non-traditional ways of teaching history. Hosted the Polish educational podcast edugadki.pl. He currently co-hosts the podcast “Podcasterix” for history teachers…. after As an expert, he appears in the media (TVN, TVP, Polsat Gazeta Wyborcza, TOK FM) on the situation in Polish education. He is interested in the application of new technologies in education.
Natalia Cetera
Art historian, museum studies and digital collection specialist, project manager at Open Culture Studio (Centrum Cyfrowe). For last 8 years she has been supporting cultural institutions in the process of digitizing museum collections, creating digital collections & online exhibitions using new technologies. She co-created digital collections of the National Museum in Warsaw, the National Museum in Krakow, the Slovak National Museum and the National Gallery in Bulgaria on the international Google Arts & Culture platform.
Artur Zochniak
Programmer, trainer. Enthusiast of algorithmic competitions, thoughtful software architecture and understanding security through practice (hackme). Finalist in the KGHM hackathon (on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the combine) in the category of applying machine learning to heavy machinery analysis (SMG). Perpetrator of several technical initiatives for young people.

Polish language and culture specialist, cultural activity organizer, trainer, active participant in education and the NGO environment. She has coordinated projects involving film education (Filmoteka Szkolna. Akcja!), reading education (Miłosz OdNowa) and cultural education (Sztuka Zaangażowana). At Centrum Cyfrowe she is responsible for the “SpołEd” Open Education Cooperative and introducing openness to schools and among teachers. She does workshops and training sessions on open resources and using new technologies in schools. She is a graduate of the Faculty of Polish Studies at the University of Warsaw.

Art historian, curator, cultural animator. Since 2006, she has worked for Zachęta – National Gallery of Art. She has collaborated with the National Museum in Warsaw, Bunkier Sztuki Gallery in Krakow, Children’s University, Jagiellonian University, and the National Digital Archive. She has curated and implemented educational programmes and exhibitions of contemporary art (e.g. Kuluary Gallery, PKiN Warsaw, 2002-2005; Art Lovers’ Club, Zachęta, 2006-2008; “From my window you can see all the mounds”, Bunkier Sztuki, 2015 (co-curator); “Aurelien Froment/Krzysztof Pijarski.
